On June 16th, three days prior to the commencement of the 54th Paris Air Show, the French Defence Innovation Agency (AID) awarded a development contract to a consortium consisting of Nexter Arrowtech (a KNDS member), EOS Technologie, and Traak. They’re tasked with creating a remotely operated weapon.
Although France previously showed interest in acquiring the Switchblade loitering munitions from the U.S., the French Ministry of the Armed Forces’ goal is to equip its military with a system entirely conceived and manufactured in France.
